Version 4 uses random values and is suitable for general identifiers. Version 7 begins with a timestamp for time-oriented ordering. Version 1 also includes time and a random node identifier here. UUIDs are identifiers rather than passwords or proof of authorization.
Generate 20 UUID v4 values for test records. Remove hyphens only if the receiving application expects the compact 32-character form.

Works in a modern browser
When this helps
Create database keys, test fixtures, correlation IDs, or sample GUIDs. The app uses the browser’s cryptographic randomness and does not keep a history of generated identifiers.
A little more clarity.
What to know before you go.
What is a GUID?
GUID is another name commonly used for a UUID. This generator can produce the same identifier formats.
Which version should I choose?
Use v4 for random identifiers or v7 when timestamp ordering is useful. Match the requirements of your system.
How many can I generate?
Choose from 1 to 1000 values in a batch.
Do braces and uppercase change the identifier?
They change its textual representation. Check whether your application accepts that representation.
