Page numbers start at 1. Commas separate output documents, while a hyphen specifies an inclusive range. For example, 1-3, 5, 8-12 creates three files. A page can appear in multiple output documents when ranges overlap. Invalid ranges are rejected before processing.
Enter 1-3, 4-6 to divide a six-page document into two three-page PDFs. Every N pages set to 2 makes three files.

When this helps
Separate chapters, individual invoices, or a set of scanned forms. Split by range when document boundaries do not match an equal number of pages.
A little more clarity.
What to know before you go.
How do page ranges work?
Each comma-separated range becomes its own PDF. Both endpoints of a hyphenated range are included.
Can I extract every page separately?
Yes. Choose Every page and download a ZIP containing one PDF per page.
What happens to a final short group?
In Every N pages mode, the remaining pages become the final file even if that group is smaller.
Does splitting compress page images?
No. Pages are copied to new documents without intentionally downsampling their content.
