Cropping removes pixels outside the frame. Save a copy if you might want another composition later. Use a square for avatars, 16:9 for landscape thumbnails, and 9:16 for vertical stories. Numeric coordinates refer to the original image, starting at its top-left corner.
For a square avatar, choose 1:1, center your subject, and apply the crop. Resize the result if your destination requires a specific pixel size.

Can I use a custom rectangle?
Yes. Free crop supports an unlocked rectangle, and numeric X, Y, width and height fields allow an exact selection.
Does cropping reduce quality?
It keeps the pixels in the selected area. JPG and WebP output is re-encoded, which can introduce a small quality change.
Can I crop on a phone?
Yes. Drag and pinch to position and zoom the image. You can also use the numeric fields.
Why is clipboard copy unavailable?
Image clipboard writing requires a compatible browser and a secure HTTPS or localhost context. Download is always available.
